Fishing Tutorial for Beginners

Before fishing, we need to cast the fishing rod (comically). As long as we are by the water, facing it, and then hold down the left mouse button, watch the progress bar. The fuller the progress bar, the farther the fishing rod will be cast. Then you can start fishing.

When fishing, you need to completely cover the fish with the green icon so that the progress bar on the right will rise. Once the fish escapes the green bar, the progress bar on the right will fall. If the progress bar falls to the bottom, you will fail the fishing. At the beginning, the green bar will be at the very bottom, and so will the fish. Then the fish will start moving or stay still (like a dumb carp). If the fish moves, you need to move the green bar to ensure it covers the fish. To move the green bar, you need to click or hold down the left mouse button. If you hold it down, the green bar will continuously ascend until it reaches the top. When released, the green bar will descend. If you don’t click, it will bounce when it reaches the bottom, just like a ball, bouncing up and down.

Tip 1: If the fish stays in the middle without moving, you can keep pressing the green bar until it covers the fish, then click the mouse repeatedly or press once and release, repeating this process to cover the fish with the green bar and prevent it from moving up and down.

Tip 2: If the fish swims quickly from the top to the bottom, release the mouse, then hold it down when the green bar is about to hit bottom, and release it when it does, so that the green bar can reach the bottom without bouncing back.

At the lake in front of the mine, there are mainly four types of fish that can be caught: largemouth bass, carp, catfish, and pike. Among them, carp are the easiest to catch; they usually stay still, so you generally don’t need to move your fishing rod. Just keep up with them as they slowly swim upward. Largemouth bass are also easy to catch; they usually start by quickly swimming to the top, but after that, they move very slowly. The more challenging fish to catch are the catfish and pike. Pike are particularly tricky; beginners should probably give up trying to catch them before reaching fishing level 3 because they move relatively quickly, making large movements up and down in an irregular pattern. Finally, the catfish can be quite tricky too, as it performs a lot of feints, shifting position briefly before returning to its original spot. With plenty of practice, catching it becomes much easier.

The prices of each type of fish vary. Generally, beginners can earn around 1000 gold per day from fishing. With more effort and practice, as your fishing skill improves, you can go after higher-level fish and earn more money.
