Dragon’s Dogma 2: Analysis of the Mystic Knight and Magick Archer

The direct attack power of a level four Mystic Knight or Magick Archer is not on par with their corresponding physical classes, such as Thief and Ranger. Instead, they excel in supportive and control-based skills.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Analysis of the Mystic Knight and Magick Archer

Mystic Knight: Utilizes “Fearful Trance” and “Scattered Burst” to paralyze small enemies in groups, grants invincibility to allies, uses “Blitz Strike” to swiftly approach and drain stamina from small enemies, and then clears the area with “Sky Rapture.” Similar tactics are employed against large enemies, although the height increase from “Heaven’s Vortex” is lower compared to the Thief’s “Dire Gouge.” Thieves can directly engage with fire-enchanted attacks like “Hundred Kisses” followed by “Explosive Volley,” but Mystic Knights are less effective in this regard. Their strategy often involves charging up with “Sky Rapture” and prioritizing tactical value through the use of invincibility shields.

Magick Archer: The crowd control skills “Hailstorm Volley” and “Quietus Gale” are initially ineffective, as evidenced by the early death encountered in a wolf encounter. However, these skills can be used to control large enemies while focusing on eliminating smaller ones, or adjusting positioning to utilize “Revitalizing Shot” and heal allies with the absorbed health. When dealing with Cyclops or climbing enemies, using “Hailstorm Volley” to disrupt their balance becomes crucial, as the subsequent fall damage is particularly important. The ability to climb walls aligns well with the skill’s characteristics. In the early stages, Magick Archers are not frontline attackers, and positioning becomes even more essential.
