No Rest for the Wicked: Heavy Swordsman Equipment and Attribute Recommendations

I’m sure everyone has had the experience of being knocked off a cliff or killed directly by the Echo Knight. In order to get strong revenge on him, please use this build to easily defeat him. Apart from the Focus Recovery that everyone currently needs to stack in their builds and the reluctance to use parry and dodge (because pressing the A key is tiring, the development team should change the keybindings soon; although the RT button is so convenient, it only has the function of expressing emotions, which I really can’t bear), the core skill Iron Mountain Press [when the character is in heavy state, press LB and RB on the controller to perform a forward shoulder charge; this action has strong super armor and interrupt capabilities, including all actions of the Great Knight and the charge of the Small Knight. Even if some actions cannot be interrupted, they can still offset the character being knocked away or down] is used. The first phase charge of the Echo Knight can be interrupted by Iron Mountain Press (or the knockback effect can be mitigated by strong super armor), so the countermeasure is to collide with him. However, Iron Mountain Press has a cost of high stamina consumption. For this reason, I added the [damage taken causes x% damage] and [when dealing damage, there is xx% chance to fully restore health] to this entry. With the advantage of high armor resistance, it ensures that the health will not be completely depleted (just forget about the roll key, attack and collision are enough). In addition, the first phase of the Flame skills cannot be consumed. This thing causes plague damage, which cannot be reduced by high armor defense, and it does not trigger the entry for damage taken type, so like in the video, you can walk around the knight to concentrate the flame.

No Rest for the Wicked: Heavy Swordsman Equipment and Attribute Recommendations

Core Build:

  1. Entry [gain x% focus when dealing damage], this entry comes from weapons. This type of entry has a more significant effect on purple equipment than on blue equipment.
  2. Entry [gain x% health when dealing damage], this entry comes from weapons or rings. This type of entry has a more significant effect on purple equipment than on blue equipment.
  3. Satisfying entry [xx% chance to fully restore health when dealing damage], this entry comes from weapons and gloves.
  4. Linked entry [attack causes additional xx% xx (plague, lightning, cold, fire) damage], this entry comes from weapons and can trigger the above entries additionally.
  5. Linked entry [damage taken causes x% damage], this entry describes causing damage, so it can also trigger the above entries. It compensates for the disadvantage of the Great Swordman always getting hit while charging (not really), besides, it seems that the [rebound xx% damage] will not trigger the above entries, but I haven’t tested it, so I still brought it just in case.

Weapon selection is quite flexible because as long as the aforementioned attributes are present, any weapon will be effective. In fact, weapons with faster attack rates may even have better results. I chose a greatsword because it’s my personal preference. However, let me explain the simplest way to obtain a weapon with the desired attributes: Purchase a weapon from the blacksmith or other merchants in the Holy City, then spend 1 silver coin at the enchanter merchant to enchant it until you obtain a weapon with the desired attributes.

  1. Weapon: “Twin Blade Slashing Sword” – Can be purchased from the blacksmith merchant. It has a good attack module and consists of three attack sequences: slash, thrust, and cleave. All three sequences can be charged. It comes with Rune Skill 1 “Acrobatic Assault,” which involves a turning sword drag followed by a lunge and upward slash (high damage), consuming 100 focus. Rune Skill 2 “Harvest” is obtained randomly from the weapon “Grim Despair.” The animation includes two horizontal slashes followed by a vertical cleave, totaling three strikes. It can break through shields and has moderate damage, but only consumes 50 focus and has minimal displacement. It has a quick activation time and is relatively easy to control.
  2. Armor: Recommend the “Verdant Warrior” set – obtained from random drops. It is recommended to farm in the Trial Grounds (as there is only one place where drop rates are high and can be farmed repeatedly). Don’t ask me why I still chose this set even though it looks like a green heavy goblin when equipped. The reason is that other helmets are too small, causing my character’s hair to clip through, which I cannot accept. This helmet is as big as the Onion Knight’s helm, providing complete coverage. Actually, any armor set can be chosen, but it should be fully reinforced; otherwise, the armor won’t be sufficient. The main attributes to look for in the armor set are “Increases healing effects by x%” and “Increases focus acquisition rate by x%”. Other recommended attributes include “Increases health by x%” because the “Raven Ring” has a negative effect of reducing health by around 20%. It helps to balance out the loss of health, as plate armor resistance alone cannot save you if your health is too low.
  3. Rings: Priority goes to the “Raven Ring” – obtained randomly, with the effects of “Gaining 3% health upon dealing damage” and “Reduces health by 21%” (with a floating value). Next is the “Fangstone Ring” – also obtained randomly, with the effect of “Increases armor by xx%.” Other rings with attributes that increase armor can also be used. It is advisable to stack up high armor for physical damage reduction. The reason for not choosing the “Savage Ring” is that, according to tests conducted by others, the increased damage attributes on all rings currently do not take effect. Equipping the “Featherlight Ring” is only to balance out the negative attributes on the weapon.
  4. Gem Embedding (Note: The same gem embedded in different slots will have different effects within a certain range. You can preview the effects at the enchanter merchant): It is recommended to embed “Ruby Fragments” in the helmet, which can be purchased from the enchanter merchant. It has the effect of “Increases healing effects by x%.” For the armor, embed Ruby Fragments, which have the effect of “Increases health by x%.” As for the pants and gloves, you can choose freely.
