No Rest for the Wicked: How to Defeat the Echo Knight

The attribute “Deal x% damage to gain Health” originates from weapons or rings. This type of attribute is significantly more effective on purple equipment than on blue equipment.

The synergistic attribute “Attacks deal xx% additional xx (Plague, Lightning, Chill, Fire) damage” originates from weapons. Through a less rigorous comparative test, it was found that this additional damage can also trigger the above two attributes. When rune skills do not have any attributes, this effect can still be triggered (this can be confirmed by enabling damage numbers in settings and observing the damage numbers displayed when rune skills hit enemies). This means that the recovery effect can increase exponentially with the number of attacks from rune skills, achieving perpetual motion (of course, the prerequisite is hitting the target; without hitting, no damage will be dealt and the trigger won’t occur). Additionally, this effect can also be triggered through item enchantments, but when double-enchanted, the latter will overwrite the former, including a similar but differently named attribute obtained by embedding gems into a weapon already equipped with such an attribute.

Equipment Selection and Sources
Weapons are optional because as long as they have the aforementioned attributes, any weapon will work well; in fact, weapons with faster attack rates may yield better results. I chose the greatsword based on personal preference. However, here is the simplest way to acquire weapons with the mentioned attributes: purchase them from the blacksmith in the Holy City or other merchants, then visit the enchanter and spend 1 silver coin on enchanting until you obtain the desired weapon.

Weapon: “Double-Edged Blade,” available for purchase from the blacksmith merchant. It has a good combination of attack modules, with three attack sequences of slash, thrust, and horizontal cleave, all of which can be charged. Its intrinsic rune skill 1 is “Juggling Assault,” featuring a turning blade drag followed by a forward lunge and upward slash; it lacks direction correction performance and activation speed compared to the previously discussed weapon “Gilded Beak Axe” with its own rune skill “Lightning Blitz.” The damage remains consistent, with a focus cost of 100. Rune skill 2 is “Limit Break,” originating from the weapon “Bone Chant Saw” two-handed greatsword, performing a three-stage jump spin with a large sword, lacking direction correction after activation; all three stages can weaken toughness. Filling all three stages with Echo Knights can accumulate approximately 3/4 yellow bars; primarily for aesthetic appeal (this is why I ditched the superior performing greataxe). Also, because the rune skills kicked down in the core building can trigger the properties of the “Deal x% damage to gain Focus” attribute, all three slashes can trigger it when successfully executed. In a scenario where all three slashes hit the target (combined character data shown in the video includes a maximum focus of 300, maximum health of 144, focus acquisition rate of 39%, healing effect increase of 57%, gaining 8% focus from dealing damage, and gaining 6% health from dealing damage), one can recover a focus value of (300*8%23)139%=200.16 points and health points of (1446%23)*157%=81.38 points, resulting in a total recovery.

Armor: “Verdant Warrior” set, randomly dropped, recommended for farming in the trial grounds (where drop rates are high and you can repeat the process); don’t ask me why I chose this set even though it looks like a green heavy goblin armor, it’s because the other helmets were too small, causing my character’s hair to clip through, which I couldn’t stand; this helmet is as big as the Onion Knight Helm and fits snugly.

In reality, armor is random; key attributes to look for include “Increase Healing Effect by x%” and “Increase Focus Acquisition Rate by x%”; “Increase Health by x%” is also recommended, as the negative effect of the “Crow Ring” is “Reduce Health by xx%” (around a 20% fluctuation), providing balance, as otherwise, low health cannot be saved by plated armor resistance.

Ring priority: “Calm Grasp Ring,” randomly acquired, providing effects like “Increase Focus Limit by 100” and “Increase Focus Acquisition Rate by xx%” (with a floating value, 10% being the upper limit); next in line is the “Crow Ring,” randomly acquired, offering effects like “Gain 3% health when dealing damage” and “Reduce Health by 21%” (with a floating value); and “Savage Ring,” randomly acquired, providing effects like “Increase Armor by 17%” and “Increase Damage Dealt by 14%.”

Gem Embedding (Note: The effects of the same gem embedded in different slots vary, and there is a range of effects; these effects can be previewed at the enchanter’s shop): Recommended gem embedding includes using “Ruby Fragments” on the helmet for “Increase Healing Effect by x%,” on the armor for “Increase Health by x%,” and freely on the pants and gloves.

At the enchanter’s shop, as you level up, you can buy runes like “Life Pulse” (increases maximum health, with a duration of approximately 120s or shorter), “Damage Surge” (increases damage dealt), “Focus Aura” (increases focus limit by 100), and “Vitality Source” (increases stamina limit). Then, purchase a white-graded weapon, consume an Alchemical Elixir to replenish your focus before engaging the boss (available directly from the alchemist merchant for 21 copper coins per vial; the merchant appears in the Holy City cave along the route from Sailor’s Haven after completing the Bouncy Challenge), buff yourself to increase tolerance and resilience; these strategies apply across the board.
