Genshin Impact: Arlecchino Team Composition Analysis

Character Description

Pyro – Polearm Character: Has a wide attack range, suitable for dealing with groups of enemies in the environment, and can trigger reactions such as Vaporize, Melt, Burning, and Overload.

Genshin Impact: Arlecchino Team Composition Analysis

Arlecchino is an output-oriented character who can stay in the Enchantment state and choose to burst/field. By marking and recovering from enemies, she gains Life Pledges to imbue herself with Pyro, increase her normal attack damage, and clear her Life Pledges to restore her health using her Elemental Burst.

Team Composition Selection
Vaporize

Melt (with limited Ice attachment coverage)

Pure Pyro

Overload

For Arlecchino, resistance to interruptions is needed. Characters like Zhongli, Rosaria, Beidou, and Xiangling, who excel at resisting interruptions, are generally recommended, along with Diona as an option.

In the support role, the usual choices are between Bennett or Sucrose. While Sucrose offers high Elemental Mastery and Attack Speed, Bennett provides stable buffs.

Next, let’s delve into why this team composition was chosen by exploring the mechanisms.

Terminology
Understanding these three terms will give you a full grasp of Arlecchino’s mechanics:

Life Pledges: With a maximum limit of 200%, reaching 200% causes the frame outside the health bar to turn gray. The more stacks of Life Pledges, the higher the damage output.

Scarlet Seal: In the Pyro state, when Life Pledges reach a certain value, it triggers a continuous effect. Hitting enemies consumes Life Pledges and increases damage based on the current percentage of Life Pledges (unlike Hu Tao, whose mechanism is based on HP, Arlecchino’s is based on the percentage of Life Pledges).

Bloodstained Burden: Marks enemies with her Elemental Skill, allowing recovery of Life Pledges via heavy hits and gaining restorative effects through her Elemental Burst.

Skills
Enchantment Mechanism

Entering the Enchantment state imbues normal attacks, plunging attacks, and heavy hits with Pyro status.

Normal attacks consume 7.5% of Life Pledges (up to 200%) and provide a damage bonus based on the percentage of Life Pledges.

Therefore, Arlecchino cannot replicate operations like those of Hu Tao that rely on heavy hits or plunging attacks to trigger reactions.

Heavy Hit

Moving and releasing a heavy hit grants a 5-second flight status (can fly over water, has a shield).

Recovering by a heavy hit allows the retrieval of “Bloodstained Burdens” from enemies to gain 130% Life Pledges.

Elemental Skill

Applies a “Bloodstained Burden” mark to surrounding enemies for 30 seconds, followed by two instances of continuous Pyro damage.

Recovering by heavy hitting/killing an enemy marked with “Bloodstained Burden” restores 65% of Life Pledges, but recovery is capped at 145% via this method.

This is the primary way Arlecchino initiates Enchantment. However, keep in mind that the upper limit for Life Pledges is 200%.

If facing a single-target boss, is there a way to recover more efficiently?

Let’s look at this talent.

Talent 01

Eliminate marked enemies to acquire 130% Life Pledges, suitable for elite monster farming loops.

After marking for 5 seconds, reclaim by heavy hitting to receive another 130% Life Pledges.

Here’s a quick tip:
Initiate Arlecchino’s Elemental Skill first to mark surrounding enemies; then switch to a support character to apply buffs, followed by Arlecchino reentering the field to recover through heavy hits.

This strategy can effectively address situations where recovery is insufficient against single-target enemies.

Elemental Burst

Recovers all nearby “Bloodstained Burdens,” clears them, and restores health based on the percentage of Life Pledges, generally resulting in full recovery.

Resets the cooldown of the Elemental Skill, allowing continued Enchantment output if needed.

Talents 02 & 03

Provides a 20% resistance boost to make Arlecchino slightly more resilient. However, reliance on shield characters is essential, except when facing burning enemies.

Arlecchino lacks self-healing abilities, so healers won’t remove Life Pledges. Therefore, Arlecchino’s team can bring a healer.

Skill Summary
So how should Arlecchino be played?

Step 1: Use Arlecchino’s Elemental Skill, switch to a support character to apply buffs, maximizing recovery potential by marking enemies with “Bloodstained Burden – Union.”

Step 2: Once Arlecchino enters the field, use a heavy hit to enter the Enchantment state and focus on normal attack output. Once the Elemental Skill cooldown is ready, reuse it to maintain a high percentage of Life Pledges.

Step 3: After Arlecchino completes her output, activate her Elemental Burst to restore health and cast her Elemental Skill.

Step 4: Switch back to the support character to repeat this logical sequence consistently.

Weapons

Specialized weapons have unique effects, such as transforming into a scythe during live broadcasts, which would surely appeal to players for their appearance.

674 Base ATK, 22.1% Crit Rate, Heavy hits grant 25% Life Pledges.
If Life Pledges are over 30%, gain an additional 36% DMG boost.
If you don’t have this weapon, you can consider the following options:

Staff of Homa: 66.2% Crit DMG, 608 Base ATK, boosts ATK based on HP, perfect for Arlecchino with no issues.

Primordial Jade Winged-Spear: 22.1% Crit Rate, 674 Base ATK, attacking enemies stacks Life Pledges, also an excellent choice for Arlecchino.

Dragon’s Bane: 741 Base ATK, slightly lower double crit but provides ATK-based bonuses, suitable for Arlecchino who benefits from ATK boosts.

Deathmatch: High Crit Rate, likely the top choice for non-5-star players; however, there is another option.

Lithic Spear: Ideal for a team with Sucrose + Zhongli + Xiangling, making it very effective for Arlecchino.

Recommendation Order:

Specialized Weapon > Staff of Homa > Primordial Jade Winged-Spear > Dragon’s Bane > Deathmatch > Lithic Spear. As a last resort, Sacrificial Fragments can be used for reactions.

Artifacts

This set offers an 18% ATK boost and 54% DMG bonus.

The Life Pledges mechanism is unique to Arlecchino among current characters.
Belongs to the Maple Red version of the Reminiscence Set, but as Arlecchino needs to activate her Burst, the Reminiscence set cannot be used.
If Arlecchino doesn’t need to activate her Burst, the Reminiscence Set would be perfect, but reality doesn’t always align with intentions.

Main Stats Recommendations:
Attack Sands, Pyro Damage Goblet, Crit Rate or Crit DMG Circlet

Substats:
Crit Rate > ATK% > Elemental Mastery > HP%

Specialized Use: Since Arlecchino primarily relies on normal attacks for output, heavy hits/plunging attacks do not benefit from the set’s bonuses.

Normal Attack DMG increased by 15%, but loses out on Skill & Burst DMG enhancement.
The set effect requires either bringing Sucrose + Bennett/Diona for support, or not having a shield while Arlecchino stands her ground against damage.
This set has team composition limitations, so having a Sucrose is essential.

Main Stats Recommendations:
Attack Sands, Pyro Damage Goblet, Crit DMG Circlet

Substats:
Crit Rate > ATK% > Elemental Mastery > HP%

Another viable option is the Gladiator’s Finale set, offering an 18% ATK boost and 35% normal attack and heavy hit DMG bonus, making it an excellent transition set for Arlecchino.

In summary, a team with Arlecchino primarily requires anti-interruption capabilities, such as those provided by characters like Zhongli, Rosaria, Beidou, and Xiangling. Currently, Zhongli is considered the most suitable option due to his resistance reduction abilities.

Personal Suggestions:

Starting at Constellation level 0 is recommended, and aiming for weapon aesthetics at C1 is desirable.

However, with upcoming characters like Eula and Hu Tao, there may be significant resource pressure, so waiting for practical testing before deciding is advisable.

Artifacts:

Recommended Set: New Artifact Set – Emblem of Severed Fate

Transition Build: Gladiator’s Finale Set

Main Stats Recommendations:
Attack Sands, Pyro Damage Goblet, Crit DMG Circlet

Weapons:

Specialized Weapon > Staff of Homa > Primordial Jade Winged-Spear > Dragon’s Bane > Deathmatch > Lithic Spear

If necessary, Sacrificial Fragments can be used for reaction damage.
